Veterans are the silent millions among us, who out of uniform, rarely draw our notice. Their faith may be rattled or strengthened by war. Their bodies retired but minds still tuned into today’s conflicts, or they serve in new roles as they graduate into the next stages of their lives. They are this nation’s future and also those stuck waiting for what they need stateside. And, too often women’s service is left from the telling of history. These are the faces of Veterans Days, and these are their stories.
